The SA Comedy Awards recognises excellence in 4 categories, namely live performance, print, television and a general category. Within these categories there are a total of 10 awards. 9 of the awards will be judged by a judging panel and one of the awards - Outstanding Funny TV Commercial- the South African public will be able to vote for the commercial that really makes them laugh
 
Performers, producers, ad agencies and print journalists who believe they or their work warrants the judge’s attention, should read the information on this site to see whether they, or their work, are eligible to be entered. The requirements for nomination vary according to the genre or category and are listed here. In certain cases the performers or producers may enter themselves, and in other cases the panel of judges will select the nominees.
