- Are the South African Awards given exclusively to English Language shows and projects?
- Definitely Not! The Awards office will accept submission in any of the 11 official languages. In the case of a submission being received in a language that none of the judges feel they can fairly judge, a special judge will be appointed to join the judging panel in that category.
- Is there any age restriction to entering a project for judging?
- Only Professional projects will be eligible for an award - but no age restriction governs this. Example: If you are under 18 years of age, and are a published cartoon artist or Television performer you would be eligible.
- What if my production was created before the beginning of this year judging season,
but was broadcast for the first time during the season? - We judge work relative to the date that the work was first published or premiered, not when the work was created.
- Must I live in Johannesburg to enter the televisions categories - are the awards
given to work from all regions of South Africa? - The SA Comedy Awards are for all South Africans regardless of region. An extensive marketing campaign will be undertaken prior to the closing of entries to ensure that as many 'possibly eligible' projects enter.
- Does time exist?
- Perhaps humans invented the concept of time out of mortal fear; reasoning that if time were tangible then its degenerative march could be controlled, just as mankind has tried to subdue other aspects of the natural world. Immortality would be within our grasp! But while time may be a convenient metronome that delivers neatly portioned slivers of existence to conscious beings, the idea of a 'universal time' is looking increasingly fanciful.
- Will the public be able to buy tickets for the Live Awards Ceremony?
- A limited amount of tickets will be available to be won or purchased close to the time of the awards ceremony - check the site during August for more information.
